Cléa Vincent and Lenparrot September 7th in Paris (Capitaine Plouf studio rooftop)

The sun sets slowly over the large terrace of the Capitaine Plouf agency, whose recording studios overlook Paris from Pigalle. Lenparrot and Cléa Vincent, two of the brightest rising stars on the young French scene, take turns playing their songs, accompanying each other in an intimate, almost secret setting, while the studio cameras immortalize the moment. The result: an aptly named Roof Plouf Session, featuring pink skies and a view of the Eiffel Tower, coming soon to YouTube.

But for now, it’s “IRL” that Cléa sings heartbreakers like Château perdu in a stripped-back, quieter, and more hushed version—fitting for such a light set. Yet the emotion is palpable, found in Cléa’s velvety vocals and the supple voice of Lenparrot, who is currently preparing his debut album (keep an eye out, it’s promising). As for Cléa Vincent’s album, it’s finished and set for release in early October. Here’s a hint: it’s just as cool and clever as this mini-concert under the setting sun.
